Our story
It started with one jar on a kitchen table.
Djaed Kreyol Lite is a small-batch candle house. Everything we make is blended, poured and labeled by hand — and every scent is named for something worth remembering.
How it began
A candle that smelled like home
The first batch was never meant to be a business. It was one jar, poured at home, trying to get a room to smell the way a memory did.
The store-bought candles never got it right. They burned fast, tunneled down the middle, and the scent stayed politely inside the jar instead of filling the room. So we started testing — different waxes, different wicks, different cure times — until a candle finally did what we wanted it to do.
Coconut wax was the answer. It burns cleaner and slower than paraffin, it holds fragrance better than soy, and it gives that soft, even melt pool all the way to the edge. Paired with a cotton wick and two full weeks of curing, the scent finally carried.
Friends asked for jars. Then their friends did. Djaed Kreyol Lite grew out of that — one small batch at a time, still poured by hand, still tested the same way.

Kreyol is in the name because it is in the work. Our scents are named for the places, people and moments that raised us — and a candle called Lakay should smell like somebody is already there waiting for you.

Small batches only
We pour what we can check by hand. That means batches sell out sometimes — we would rather run out than send something we did not inspect.
Named for home
Every scent starts as a memory before it starts as a formula. If the name does not mean something, it does not make it onto a label.

Four steps, done by hand, in the order they have to happen.

Blend
Fragrance oils are weighed and mixed into melted coconut wax at the exact temperature the blend calls for.

Pour
Each jar is filled by hand, one at a time. No machines, no production line, no shortcuts.

Cure
Candles rest for two full weeks. Curing is what makes the scent carry across a room instead of sitting in the jar.

Label
The last step: the gold label goes on, the wick is trimmed, and the batch is checked before it ships.
